In my professional experience as a therapist for over three decades. I have observed that people often seek a deeper understanding their true selves and a desire to live authentically. Ther are on a quest to unlock their full potential and find a sense of purpose that brings meaning to their lives. Many individuals reach a point where they feel a disconnect from longtime friends or start questioning the beliefs and values instilled in them by their families of origin., This journey towards self-discovery and personal growth can be challenging and rewarding.
Not having a strong sense of self can result in experiencing self-doubt internal conflicts critical thought and inadequacy and feeling of isolation. Furthermore, comparing oneself to others on social media can heighten these emotions, leading individuals to feel even more alone.
Therapy offers the opportunity for self-acceptance and the development of differentiation skills, enabling individuals to disentangle societal or familial expectations and to be their own true self. It facilitates the confrontation of insecurities and the shedding of pseudo-self-behaviors. Through therapy, individuals can discover their intrinsic value and effectiveness, as well as identify their passions and sources of vitality. Furthermore, it fosters and understanding and appreciation of the daily moments of life.
Let's all embrace and savor our unique journeys!
